Luke Andrews is a high-energy entertainer, dynamic performer and original singer/songwriter who relays his experiences and life lessons through his lyrics in a way that everyone can relate to. He has a unique acoustic rhythmic style and passionate vocals that create a fresh funk/rock sound.
In 2006, shortly after Luke moved to LA from Toronto, he was struck by a car while getting off of a bus. He came away from the accident with nothing but a couple scratches, a huge medical bill and inspiration for his debut solo album, Rising.
Luke states, “I named my band The LA Accident (The Luke Andrews Accident), not only because I was alive after facing death, but also because I don't believe in ‘accidents.’ Accidents usually have a negative connotation. I believe that almost everything happens for a reason.”
In 2008, he appeared on MTV's NEXT, where the New York Film Academy shot a music video for his original song, Back in Love, and the release of Rising followed. His sophomore album, The Movement, is a socially conscious message of change delivered with a funky mix of reggae, hip-hop and blues. The album is a collaboration with many guests, including soulful back-up singers, Maya and Nandy McClean (Prince), groovy sax player, Harold Torres, and hard-hitting hip-hop vocalist, Eddie Moreno. His third release, Love Unplugged, is a raw acoustic singer/songwriter album with lyrically-driven songs about life, love and relationship.
Luke Andrews and The LA Accident have played at many prominent clubs, festivals, and competitions in Southern California, FL, and Canada, including The Roxy, Viper Room, Whisky-A-Go-Go, BB King's (opening for Blessid Union of Souls), Cameron House, Temecula Hot Summer Nights, and the 2010 Emergenza Finals. In 2012, Luke moved to St. Petersburg, FL where he is represented as a solo acoustic artist by Jane's World Entertainment and entertains audiences all over the Tampa Bay area.
